Electrical Work in Chapel Hill Homes

Sparkwise Electrical Inc works on single-family detached homes in Chapel Hill. A lot of the housing here dates from well before the current code cycle and much of it has been added to over the years, so the panel is often carrying circuits it was never sized for. Chapel Hill is the western edge of where our van goes, and we book it as a planned visit rather than a same-day call. We also cover Durham to the northeast and Raleigh to the east.

When Something Is Not Working Right

If a breaker keeps tripping, lights flicker, an outlet has gone dead or you notice a burning smell, that is a diagnostic visit rather than quoted work, because the fault has to be found before anyone can honestly price the repair. The diagnostic visit is $89: we come out, find the fault and give you a written price for the fix. The $89 covers the visit and the diagnosis and is charged in addition to the repair. Estimates are free on quoted work such as panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, rewires, new circuits and lighting.

How the Work Goes

Electrician reviewing finished electrical work with a homeowner, residential electrical services in Chapel Hill NC

01

We Look Before We Quote: On quoted work we assess what the house actually needs and what the existing service can carry, so the price you get reflects the real job rather than a guess made from the driveway.

02

Permits and Inspections Handled: Where the work needs a permit we pull it and coordinate the inspection and any utility disconnect, so you are not left chasing the county or the power company yourself.

03

A Clear Schedule: We tell you which day the work happens and how long the power is off. Most residential jobs are finished in a single visit rather than stretched across a week.

04

Labeled and Tested: Circuits are labeled and tested before we leave, so the next person who opens that panel can see what everything does.

05

Backed After We Leave: Every job is backed by a lifetime warranty on labor and workmanship, plus up to 15 years on materials. Generator installations include the first year of maintenance at no charge.

Permits and Inspection

Chapel Hill issues its own permits and its own staff inspect the work, including a town electrical inspector, so a permitted job inside the town limits stays with the Town of Chapel Hill. We pull the permit, book the inspection and coordinate any utility disconnect and reconnect, and we do not invoice a permitted job until it has passed. Rated 5.0 on Google and BBB accredited.
