Booking and pricing
Do you charge to come out?
Repairs are an $89 diagnostic visit: we come out, find the fault and give you a written price for the fix. The $89 covers the visit and the diagnosis and is charged in addition to the repair. Quoted work is free to estimate. No travel charge anywhere in the ten counties we serve.
What are your hours?
We answer from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week. Normal rates apply Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekday evenings and early mornings, weekends and holidays, the diagnostic visit is $189, charged the same way, and the repair is priced in writing and agreed with you on the phone before we book. If it can safely wait until the morning, it is $89.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. The price you agree before the work starts is the price you pay, and it does not change if the job takes longer than planned.
Do you offer financing?
On larger work such as panels, generators and EV chargers, ask when we quote.
Do you offer discounts?
5% off for first responders, military and teachers. Generator installations include the first year of maintenance at no charge. And any booked job includes a safety check of the rest of the house.
Do you charge for estimates on a home inspection report?
Yes. Pricing a buyer's inspection report line by line is real work, so it is the $89 diagnostic visit rather than a free estimate.
Who turns up
Who does the work?
The owner or one of our technicians, all working under NC electrical contractor license 37767. It is a small team, not a rotating cast.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Sparkwise Electrical Inc is a licensed and insured North Carolina electrical contractor, license 37767, based in Zebulon.
What areas do you cover?
Wake, Johnston, Durham, Orange, Harnett, Wilson, Wayne, Nash, Chatham and Franklin Counties, from our base in Zebulon. The full list of towns is on our service areas page.
Do you work on anything other than houses?
No. Single-family homes only, and we are good at it.
Permits, inspections and the day itself
Do you pull the permit?
Where the work needs one, yes, and we book the inspection and meet the inspector. In Zebulon, Wendell, Knightdale and Rolesville that goes through Wake County Permits and Inspections.
Do I have to be home?
Someone over 18 needs to be there. You do not need to take a day off for the inspection.
How do you let me know you are coming?
A two-hour arrival window, an ETA inside it, and a call or text when we are on the way. The whole visit is described on our what to expect page.
What happens if you find something else wrong?
We tell you, in writing, with a price. You decide. Nothing gets added to the job without your say.
The warranty
What is the warranty?
Lifetime warranty on labor and workmanship, plus up to 15 years on materials. No expiry, no registration, no trip charge on warranty work. The full terms are on the warranty page.
Does it transfer if I sell?
No. It covers you as the customer we did the work for.
